Our Philosophy

At Lexah Building we believe sustainable home construction can be achieved through a variety of approaches, methods and building practices. For us, there is no single pathway to arriving at what we feel is the ideal solution, houses that minimise the impact of the construction industry on an environment we all love to exist in.

Your interest may be natural mediums like straw and hemp, energy efficient house orientation, off the grid homes or low impact cradle to grave material choices to mention just a few possibilities. Whichever it may be, possibly even all of them, our belief is that there are many strategies that can be implemented individually or in tandem to improve sustainability of homes.

Lexah Building firmly believe in the need to minimise waste wherever possible, an often overlooked aspect of the residential construction industry. Through material choices, recycling and repurposing we are always aiming to avoid landfill in any way we can. This can especially come into effect when renovating homes and finding ways to incorporate pieces of the existing structure into the new.

Whatever your choices, the joy of building for us comes from combining our skills and knowledge with your passion, creating comfortable living spaces that reduce energy consumption and environmental impact . No matter if it’s a new build or transforming an existing home, our team are always excited to be involved from conception to realisation of your dream.

Working with Lexah Building means connecting with a team that takes a collaborative approach to the process of bringing plans to life. Whether it’s suppliers, designers, trades, or the customer, we believe that everyone has an important part to play during a build, encouraging open communication and the input of new and alternative ideas or solutions.

Our Team

Alex

Having worked in the building industry to fund overseas travel Alex began training as a carpenter after migrating to Australia. Now with twenty years experience in the industry he is still involved hands on with site construction, combining this with working with clients and designers to bring projects to fruition. Passionate about quality in every aspect of the build, considerate of how his work affects others and always thinking of the final product your first contact at Lexah Building will be director and owner, Alex Parker.

Todd

Having qualified as a carpenter several years ago Todd has spent time working for himself and other building companies before recently joining our team as a lead carpenter. With great knowledge of many aspects of residential and commercial building Todd brings enthusiasm and fantastic trade/client relations to our sites. Not forgetting some first rate carpentry skill as well.

Outside of work Todd has an interest in aquaponic gardening and a love for great tasting food.

Maddie

Our almost third year apprentice Maddie brings a cheerful and enthusiastic approach to work always and is rapidly developing her expertise and abilities. We’re quite thrilled to have one of what will hopefully be a growing number of females in the trades, it certainly brings a refreshing outlook to site at times.

In her spare time Maddie is a vastly knowledgeable dog lover, often found teaching her pooches yet another trick or competing in dog sports.
